Here's what we know about the shooting:
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett called the shooting at the Molson Coors complex a "horrific act."
“This is a tragic day for our city, this is a tragic day for our state. Five families, six families actually, are grieving and will be grieving because of this horrific act of this individual," Barrett said during a news conference.
The five victims were employees at Molson Coors, the chief said. The suspect was a 51-year-old Milwaukee man who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, he added.
More than 1,000 employees were working at the time of the incident, but no other people were injured, Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales said at a news conference today.
Morales said the next update will be after 10 p.m. ET when Molson Coors leadership arrives from out of town.
Six people, including the shooter, have died following a shooting in Milwaukee this afternoon, according to Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales.
The five victims were employees at Molson Coors, the chief said.

Morales said they received a report about a shooting at the Molson Coors complex at 2:08 p.m. local time (3:08 p.m. ET). There is no threat at this time, but law enforcement will continue to investigate throughout the night, Morales said.
"No other individuals were injured," Morales said. "It's a terrible day for Milwaukeeans."
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers tweeted a statement describing the incident at the Molson Coors complex as a mass shooting.
Evers said Milwaukee is grappling with “yet another act of gun violence that will have long-lasting consequences for this community and our state.”
"Our hearts go out to the families of those whose lives were senselessly taken, all of the folks and workers at Molson Coors, and the Milwaukee community as we grapple with yet another act of gun violence that will have long-lasting consequences for this community and our state," Evers tweeted.
The Molson Coors beer-brewing company was forced to cut short a conference in Houston, Texas, today after receiving news of a deadly shooting that happened at its Milwaukee headquarters this afternoon.
Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul tweeted following the incident at Molson Coors.
"This is gut-wrenching. My heart goes out to Molson Coors employees, their families, and the entire Milwaukee community. The DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation is on the scene and will continue assisting local law enforcement with whatever they need," Kaul tweeted.
President Trump, speaking at a news conference this evening, shared his condolences for the families of those who were killed in today's shooting in Milwaukee.
"We send other condolences, we'll be with them. And it is a terrible thing. Terrible thing. So our hearts go out to the people of Wisconsin and to the families," he said.
Former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus tweeted his condolences to the victims involved in the incident in Milwaukee this afternoon.
“Very sad news out of Wisconsin and Molson Coors. God Bless the people of Milwaukee. Let’s pray for all of the victims, police, medical personnel and everyone impacted by this tragedy," he tweeted.
