The royal protocol still to come
Traditionally, a notice is placed on an easel outside Buckingham Palace to announce the birth of a royal baby.
One royal tradition to watch out for on Monday is the release of an official notice signed by Meghan's doctors, confirming the newborn's gender, weight and time of birth.
Here's what the palace says about it: A framed notice of birth will go on display on a ceremonial easel on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace following the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son.
The framed notice of birth will be brought out of the Privy Purse Door and carried across the forecourt, to be placed on the easel.
What's different this time round? The easel is being placed out after news of the new royal baby's birth was announced on Instagram, usually it's placed on the forecourt simultaneously as the birth is first revealed.
