When World of Hyatt added seven luxury all-inclusive brands to its portfolio in 2022, frequent travelers and rewards enthusiasts rejoiced. The addition meant several all-inclusive brands would become available to members who want to earn or redeem rewards on all-inclusive hotel stays, including Dreams Resorts & Spas, Secrets Resorts & Spas, Zoetry Wellness & Spa Resorts, Breathless Resorts & Spas and more.

The Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen — located south of Cancun along Mexico’s Caribbean coast — is considered one of the brand’s most exclusive and luxurious adults-only resorts. In fact, Secrets Moxché’s romantic vibe, large footprint with secret spaces for romance and relaxation and sparkling selection of pools have made the property popular with honeymooners since its opening in April of 2022.

This sought-after hotel just took its offering up a notch with the addition of an extravagant “resort within a resort” late last year. Now fully open to the same adults-only crowd is the Impression Moxché by Secrets, which features refined extravagance, gourmet dining and huge rooms (starting at 947 square feet) that are bookable with points in the World of Hyatt program.

Let’s take a look at my recent stay at the Impression Moxché by Secrets and how to book it with World of Hyatt points.

Impression Moxché by Secrets: A luxury resort for couples

The fact that Impression Moxché by Secrets is part of Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen means that, first and foremost, guests here have access to amenities at both properties. This includes pools, bars, restaurants and more.

That said, this unlimited access is only available to Impression Moxché by Secrets guests since travelers staying in the normal Secrets Moxché resort cannot use the amenities available within the Impression tower. In other words, the Impression Moxché gives you access to everything.

This luxury resort is geared to couples, and this all starts with the fact that the majority of its exclusive suite options feature a king-size bed, 900+ square feet of space, indoor and outdoor soaking tubs and huge balconies that let travelers soak up the sun in ultimate privacy.

The Impression tower also has an array of features and amenities that are only available to its guests, including a rooftop pool area, infinity pool, dining area and bar, a luxurious main pool and several dedicated dining options. Impressions Moxché guests also receive butler service and 24-hour room service.

The pools at this property are simply incredible, and that includes pools available at the Impression tower and elsewhere across the main resort. A huge lagoon-style pool sits toward the back of the property and provides a relaxing, refreshing place for couples to unwind and enjoy bar service and live music, while several small grotto pools dot the property and feature clusters of seating for small parties.

There are also multiple large pools with swim-up bars at Secrets Moxché, which have games and plenty of padded seating. Bar service throughout the Secrets property is plentiful and waiters ask for your drink order at every turn.

Impression Moxché by Secrets: Room types and dining

Hyatt
A Signature Suite at the Impression Moxché by Secrets.

All rooms at Impression Moxché by Secrets are suites geared to couples, and this includes their “base” offering of a Signature Suite King Tropical View. Other suite options include a Signature Suite with an ocean view or swimout, a Master Suite with an ocean view or swimout, a Panoramic Suite Oceanfront, a two-story oceanfront penthouse and a beachfront Presidential Villa.

Even the most “basic” suite here is bound to please due to its sheer size plus amenities like a 55-inch flat-screen television, a fully stocked minibar, robes and slippers, an espresso machine and even a pillow menu.

But what’s most impressive about the Impression Moxché by Secrets is its decadent dining options. Guests can dine and drink at 14 restaurants and 12 bars and lounges across both properties.

Impression guests can take advantage of exclusive venues like the Cielo Impression Rooftop, which offers delectable appetizers, mouthwatering main courses and a vast selection of vegan options.

Bamboo, which is perched above the resort’s lagoon-style pool, features Southeast Asian cuisine with an entirely plant-based menu of delicious curries, noodle dishes, rolls and salads.

A chef’s table-style restaurant called Teodoro delights guests with a seven-course tasting menu with wine pairings curated by Chef Orlando Trejo, one of the most prominent chefs in Mexico. The over-the-top culinary experience offered here includes excitingly unique dishes, diverging tastes and emphasis on fresh and local ingredients. It’s all served in an open kitchen where guests can be part of the action.

While fine dining at Teodoro can come at an extra charge, this meal is complimentary for those staying five or more nights and guests staying in a Master Suite or higher have unlimited access to the restaurant.

Booking the Impression Moxché by Secrets with World of Hyatt points

Holly Johnson/CNN Underscored

The Impression Moxché by Secrets isn’t inexpensive, and it shouldn’t be given its culinary options, suites and service far exceed what most all-inclusive resorts have to offer. Nightly rates at this property start at around $1,000 for double occupancy in one of the property’s signature suites.

Fortunately, it’s bookable with World of Hyatt points, although rates and availability vary depending on when you stay. As a Category F property on Hyatt’s all-inclusive award chart, it ranges from 42,000 to 58,000 points per night, which is pricey but reasonable when you consider the average nightly rate for this property.

Travelers can book the standard Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen for as little as 35,000 points per night, and cash rates are less expensive with some nights costing $648. However, staying at the regular Secrets Moxché property means you cannot access the elevated amenities and dining options in the Impression tower.

Credit cards that earn World of Hyatt points

Hyatt

If you’re interested in booking an all-inclusive stay at the Impression Moxché by Secrets or Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen, you can fork over the cash rate or pay directly with World of Hyatt points. These points can be earned by completing paid stays with Hyatt hotels and resorts around the world and through other qualifying activities.

A few co-branded World of Hyatt credit cards also let users earn points in the program based on spending and come with other perks right off the bat:

  • World of Hyatt Credit Card: The World of Hyatt credit card for consumers gives card holders automatic Discoverist status, plus the chance to earn a welcome bonus where you can earn five Category 1-4 Free Night Awards to use at Hyatt hotels after spending $4,000 in the first three months. Card holders also earn World of Hyatt points for each dollar they spend and get a free night at a Category 1, 2, 3 or 4 property each year they renew their card. A second free night is available for those who spend $15,000 in a calendar year as well. A $95 annual fee applies.
  • World of Hyatt Business Credit Card: This business credit card from Hyatt gives the opportunity to earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 on purchases within three months of account opening. Members also earn World of Hyatt points for every purchase they make and get perks like World of Hyatt Discoverist status, up to $100 in Hyatt credits each account anniversary year, five Tier-Qualifying night credits toward status for every $10,000 spent in a calendar year and more. A $199 annual fee applies.

Also be aware that Chase Ultimate Rewards® points transfer to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. This can make it easier to earn enough rewards for the stay you want in Hyatt properties, whether you need to top off your World of Hyatt account or you focus spending exclusively on Chase Ultimate Rewards credit cards.

Either way, you can earn points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card and transfer your rewards to World of Hyatt in increments of 1,000.

Further, Bilt Rewards Points transfer to Hyatt at the same 1:1 transfer ratio. You can earn these points by spending on the Bilt Mastercard®, making a rent payment through the Bilt portal (up to 100,000 points earned per calendar year) and dining at restaurants that participate in the Bilt Dining rewards program.

Bottom line

Most major hotel loyalty programs feature a selection of all-inclusive properties that include food, drinks and entertainment in the nightly rate. The World of Hyatt program is no exception, especially since seven all-inclusive resort brands became part of Hyatt in 2022.

That said, the culinary experiences and amenities at the Impression Moxché by Secrets go above and beyond what you’ll find at run-of-the-mill all-inclusive properties. In fact, this property’s extensive dining options, suites and features exceed what you would find at many 5-star hotels and resorts around the world.

Plus, the fact that you can book at least part of your stay with World of Hyatt points help make it more affordable, but you’ll need to start earning to book this all-inclusive trip of a lifetime.
