The Bilt Mastercard® has been one of the fastest growing rewards program over the past few years. With many opportunities to earn and redeem points, it’s one of my go-to credit cards and reward programs out there.
But even already-great loyalty programs can get better, and that just happened with Bilt Rewards. On the heels of adding Marriott Bonvoy to their portfolio, Bilt just added another new transfer partner to its portfolio.
Starting today, Bilt Rewards members can transfer their points to Avianca LifeMiles. This brings its number of loyalty partners up to 16 programs, giving you a slew of opportunities to redeem your hard-earned Bilt points.
With Avianca LifeMiles being an international airline based in South America, this might be a new program for many of you. But since the program is part of the Star Alliance partnership, LifeMiles can be redeemed on many partner airlines, even allowing you to fly domestically within the United States.
So, how does this partnership work? And what are some of the best ways to redeem LifeMiles? Let’s dive into the details.
Learn more about and apply for the Bilt Mastercard.
Transfer your Bilt Reward points to Avianca LifeMiles
Similar to all other Bilt Reward partnerships, Bilt points transfer to Avianca LifeMiles at a 1-to-1 ratio. This means, for every 1,000 Bilt points transferred over, you’ll earn 1,000 Avianca LifeMiles.
With LifeMiles worth around 1.7 cents apiece, according to The Points Guy, this is an incredible enhancement to the program and a great way to redeem your points. In fact, LifeMiles has one of the strongest valuations out of all the Bilt Rewards airline partnerships.
Booking an award flight is incredibly easy, with most availability showing up online through the Avianca LifeMiles website. The program even offers a calendar view, allowing you to see award availability for the month.
And when transferring points from Bilt Rewards to LifeMiles, transfers are almost instant but can take up to 24 hours.
Opportunities to redeem Avianca LifeMiles
While there are many ways to redeem your Avianca LifeMiles, we put together a sample of some of our favorites. LifeMiles follows a zone-based award chart, so travelers can reap some phenomenal “sweet spot” awards.
For those looking to fly domestically within the United States, you can fly for as low as 6,500 LifeMiles one-way on partner United Airlines. Although, if you’re looking to fly across the country, you’re looking at redeeming approximately 13,500 LifeMiles one-way.
Or if you’re looking to fly to Canada, that is also an option by redeeming your LifeMiles on partner Air Canada (or even United Airlines). Again, those flights cost as low as 6,500 miles one-way, depending on the zone you are flying to and from.
You can also use your LifeMiles to fly to many international destinations. With partners such as TAP Portugal and Lufthansa Airlines, there are many opportunities to fly one-way to Europe at just 30,000 LifeMiles in economy class or 63,000 LifeMiles in business class.
Bottom line
With this new added partnership, there are even more ways to redeem your Bilt points to fly throughout the US and around the world. And at such a strong valuation, this is a truly a great addition to the Bilt Rewards program.
