It was one of the products that popped up in a YouTube video I was watching about must-have Amazon gadgets. Getting one for myself was a no-brainer because I wanted to see if it would make a difference in my getting-ready routine.
Why the Sink Topper is a score
Dealing with limited under-the-sink storage space means that some of my products inevitably end up on what little counter space I have. While I try to limit the number of products I leave on the counter, I’ve still knocked over my fair share of stuff onto the floor.
What makes the Sink Topper so great is that it allows you to take advantage of your entire sink space. It stretches across your bathroom sink and has a silicone surface for your items to rest on. The standard size is perfect for me since it can hold my face wash, face moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup pouch, with plenty of space for more.
When I’m doing my hair, I usually have multiple products out at once, and the Sink Topper can accommodate them all. It’s also heat resistant up to 480 degrees Fahrenheit so you can put hot hair styling tools on there. In addition to being very easy to clean — you just need soap and water — it can be used to clean your makeup brushes because of its textured surface. Though I don’t use it for that, it’s a great feature for anyone looking for an easy way to clean their brushes.
The Sink Topper is lightweight and has a built-in loop, so you have the option to hang it — but because it’s pretty thin, I just keep it next to my sink. When I need to use it, it’s easy to grab and unfold to set up. And even though this isn’t its intended use, it’s also super helpful to have the Sink Topper when I’m cleaning the counter space around my sink. I can put the things that I keep around the sink permanently (like my toothbrush and water flosser) on the Sink Topper to keep them out of the way. This makes it much easier for me to clean the space because I don’t have to lift every product or put them all on the floor or in a drawer.
The Sink Topper is one of those items I didn’t know I needed until I got one for myself. Of course, nothing can compete with actual counter space, but the Sink Topper is a great temporary solution. It gives me a bit more space when I need it, making it easier to get ready, and is such a steal at $25.
