As someone who travels over 200,000 miles a year, I’ve tested countless backpacks, and the Peugeot Voyages Business Backpack has impressed me on a whole new level. In the past month, this bag has joined me on flights to Mexico, Canada and Hawaii. It’s been stuffed into overhead bins, slid under airplane seats and lugged through busy airports — and it’s held up exceptionally well.

But my favorite part? The Peugeot Voyages Business Backpack feels just as at home breezing through airport security as it does parked next to a Manhattan conference table.

Here’s what makes it a solid choice for both travel and work.

The Peugeot Voyages Business Backpack is a stylish and functional travel companion that offers weather-resistant fabric, an ergonomic design, ample storage with dedicated compartments for laptops and tablets, a USB charging port and RFID protection to keep your belongings secure.

What I liked about it

The design: Functional and fashionable

When I first saw the Peugeot backpack, I was drawn to its blend of professional style and practical design. I’d previously tried other “business backpacks” like the Peak Design Everyday Backpack and Away’s Everywhere Zip Backpack that either looked sleek but lacked features or were overly technical.

In this case, Peugeot, in collaboration with Delsey, hit a perfect middle ground. The wide, bucket-style opening made packing a breeze — especially on an early-morning flight to Mexico City when I was in a rush. Its bucket and lid design made it so easy to remove my liquids and electronics, which I packed in the Briggs & Riley Expandable Essentials Kit and the Paravel Cabana Vanity Case.

The backpack is versatile enough to stow in an overhead bin on a flight to Florida or pair seamlessly with a blazer for a business meeting in New York. No matter the setting, the backpack feels perfectly at home.

Oh, and the weather-resistant fabric and lid closure came in handy when it started raining in Maui. I walked a few blocks to my hotel, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort, without worrying about my laptop or documents getting wet, which can be a rare feature in many business backpacks.

But where Peugeot Voyages really stands out is in its DNA. Peugeot is known for blending style with practicality, and last summer, I experienced this firsthand, zipping around the Dordogne Valley in a rented Peugeot 208. Much like the car, this backpack merges French élégance with functional design.

On-the-go convenience with charging and RFID protection

Another standout feature of the Peugeot backpack is its USB charging ports. During a layover in Denver (DEN), I plugged in my phone using the USB-C port, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to access the port without digging through my bag. Compared to other bags with charging ports buried inside, Peugeot places both USB-A and USB-C ports in a truly convenient spot.

The RFID-protected pocket also adds a layer of security, especially in busy places like Times Square. For those unfamiliar with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), it’s a technology that uses electromagnetic fields to identify and track tags attached to objects like credit cards or passports. These tags contain sensitive data, such as personal information or payment details, that can be read by scanners. Unfortunately, this also means they can potentially be accessed by unauthorized RFID readers through “skimming” — the unauthorized capture of this information. An RFID-protected pocket helps block these signals.

Although I’m generally pretty cautious when it comes to protecting my valuables, the RFID feature gives extra peace of mind for my passport and credit cards.

Practicality and performance that’s worth the investment

At $195, the Peugeot backpack isn’t the cheapest on the market. However, after putting it through a month of intense travel, I can say it justifies the price. Despite some shoving into overhead bins and under-seat storage, the bag hasn’t scuffed or lost its shape — something I can’t say for every bag I’ve tested at this price point.

If you’re looking for a backpack that seamlessly transitions from work meetings to airport gates, this one hits the mark with style, durability and practical features.

What I didn’t like about it

It’s only available in black

While the backpack looks undeniably sharp in classic black, expanding the color options would make it even more appealing. I’d love to see a navy blue or slate gray, for instance. That would also be nice for easy spotting in crowded overhead bins or luggage racks — especially since black backpacks are so common.

Adding more color choices would also help folks choose a bag that feels more uniquely theirs while still fitting in both professional and travel settings.

The side pocket is too small for most water bottles

I was, however, a bit disappointed that the side pocket was too small for my 20-ounce water bottle. Although the interior has dedicated water bottle holders, I prefer to keep my water outside for easy access. For others who travel with larger bottles, this could be a downside.

It’s great for travel and daily commutes for professionals on the go. While the side pockets could be roomier and color options expanded, its overall functionality and comfort make it a top travel companion.
