Anti-theft bags are a popular option for folks looking to travel to places known for pickpocketing — or just a great way to keep your belongings safe. And though many of these feature-rich bags are pricier than your normal backpack or carryall, the Pincnel Anti-Theft Backpack rings in for under $30.
Anti-theft bags offer all kinds of ways to help protect your personal stuff, like interlocking zippers, secret compartments and even straps that can’t be cut. This Pincnel bag, available in 2 sizes and 8 different colors, is both great-looking and intuitively designed, with a main compartment with a hidden zipper. And for just $27 on Amazon, it was a perfect addition to my everyday gear.
This great-looking, budget-friendly anti-theft backpack is perfect for everyday chores and travel alike. With plenty of pockets and hidden zippers, both inside and out, you can wear it as a backpack, or take off the straps and sling it over your shoulder.
How I found the Pincnel Anti-Theft Backpack
What first struck me about this bag was how lightweight it is. The Pincnel large bag is 1.3 pounds and as a parent, I was able to load it up with diapers, wipes, a diaper mat, snacks, my phone, wallet and three water bottles — and tote it all wherever I went.
But thankfully, it’s not just convenient, it’s also stylish — and I ordered the faux leather brown. I immediately appreciated that the waterproof nylon also made it easy to wipe down if there were any spills, while the generous dimension of the larger sized bag meant that I was able to fit my 13-inch MacBook Air as well as store my mouse, glasses, chargers, pens, notebook and accessories in the various compartments. Plus, the shoulder straps also happen to be removable, so you can wear it as a backpack or a shoulder bag.
Why the Pincnel Anti-Theft Backpack is a score
For me, the Pincnel Anti-Theft Backpack is a huge help with my everyday parenting. It means that when I take two toddlers to the mall, I can keep an eye on the kids without spending too much time worrying about my bag’s belongings — like when we stopped by a few stores, snack kiosks and even the indoor playground.
In addition to the roomy main space of the bag, which zips up from the side (which means its up against your back and much harder for a thief to get to) you’ll get two zippered side pockets big enough for cell phones or even a paperback as well as perfect for stashing tissue packs, makeup, sunglasses and hair accessories. The back of the bag features two more zippers and a U-shaped opening, while inside you’ll find two small compartments — big enough for a glasses case, phone, keys, a small wallet and even pens. Moving on to the side of the bag, there are yet another two pockets which could hold less personal things, like water bottles or an umbrella.
I found it comfortable to wear the Pincnel Anti-Theft Backpack on my back or as a shoulder bag, and I didn’t have any backaches or discomfort no matter what I loaded it up with — which is one of the true tests of a good travel bag. And of course, the hope is that by placing your most important belongings deep inside the backpack it can help prevent someone from stealing them.
The fact is, that for $27, this is the perfect bag for travel or for running around town. And yes, it also happens to be my new diaper-bag-backpack for a busy life on-the-go. Now the only question is, what color should you choose?
