When the fall season descends, we put away our summer wardrobe, break out the softest sweaters and blankets, and let the cooler temps take us right into cozy season. From candles we can’t get enough of to spa-like linens and even slippers and boots that keep our toes toasty, there are so many products we reach for nonstop to help make the dull days of winter and fall that much more enjoyable.

To jumpstart the cozy season, out editors have shared 19 of their favorite home items for staying bundled up and snug during the colder months ahead.

I’ve written about my love for the Zadro towel warmer before, and as a perpetually cold person, that hasn’t changed. I was genuinely sad when I put this away for the summer. As much as I love the warmer weather, stepping into a warm towel after a shower or bath is the best feeling. Needless to say, it was the first thing I took out of my closet when the temperature dropped a few degrees, and I’ll be filling it with socks, pajamas and other clothes as we move into winter. — Rachel Quigley, managing editor

Though it doesn’t get as frigid as other cities, it still gets nippy out here in Los Angeles. Especially on winter nights, I need a robust comforter to keep me nice and comfortable while watching TV in bed. It’s no secret I’m a fan of Buffy’s Wiggle Pillow, but for ultimate warmth and comfort, the Buffy Cloud Comforter is the best. It’s fluffy yet breathable and not too thick, which makes it perfect for both fall and spring. Throw it in a luxurious Breeze Duvet Cover for a bit of color and even more softness. — Michelle Rae Uy, testing and updates writer

My all-time favorite candle hails from the Asian-owned fragrance brand Emme. And with more time spent indoors during the colder months, a great-smelling home is a must. While you can’t go wrong with scents like Ube and Matcha, this Bamboo candle’s spa-like aroma easily takes the top spot for me. — Jacqueline Saguin, deals editor

One of my favorite parts about cozy season is that it's also soup season. Soup is easy to make and also easy to reheat over multiple days. This Anyday cookware set has everything you'll need to make the soup of your dreams. During the cooler weather, I have less energy to get up and cook, so this gives me a super-easy way to still eat at home but not have to turn on the stove. I love that you can make the soup straight in the bowl and throw it into the microwave for easy cooking. — Gabriella Triolo, social coordinator

Nothing, I repeat, nothing has ever made me feel as cozy and warm as my Comfy. It offers the comfort of wearing your favorite oversized hoodie with the warmth of a fuzzy blanket. Plus, it has a giant pocket. I love my Comfy so much, I’ve absolutely worn it in public and bought others for my family. — Gareen Puglia, associate testing writer

Here’s the thing: I thought I had outgrown Uggs until I saw the brand’s cozy clogs all over Instagram last year. I love how stylish these things are while keeping my feet comfortable even when I’m clocking more than 10,000 steps in a day. More importantly, they keep my feet warm and add a couple more inches to my height. Whether I’m wearing baggy jeans and a casual top or a more elevated outfit, they’re perfect. I’ll be wearing these until after Christmas! — Michelle Rae Uy, testing and updates writer

As its name suggests, the DreamCloth collection from Vineyard Vines feels luxe, smooth and soft. It comes in pretty, light-toned hues to mix and match with its lineup of matching lounge pants. I even opted to embroider my hoodie. — Jacqueline Saguin, deals editor

I have been rocking my Glerups for years now, in both the shoe and the slip-on versions. Made of ridiculously soft, warm wool from hearty Danish sheep, then crafted in Romania, they easily go from inside to out with the thick calfskin soles. They are consistently stationed next to my bed for morning coziness, and I have even been known to take them camping (or glamping, in my case) for those walks to the loo at night. Not only are they insanely comfy but I love the fact that they never make my feet sweat — no matter the temp or environment. — Tobey Grumet Segal, health, food and fitness editor

Fluffy and cloudlike, the plush Lovesac Footsac blanket keeps me warm on chillier evenings. Its two deep pockets keep my feet extra cozy, with fuzzy socks to boot. — Jacqueline Saguin, deals editor

What is it about fireplaces that immediately lull you into a relaxed state? Sadly, where I live (Southern California), fireplaces in homes and apartments are not common, which is why I’m so happy that TerraFlame by Solo Stove came out with its Lloyd Modern Gel-Fuel Fireplace. It’s so easy to assemble, has a relatively small footprint and is smokeless — perfect for my modestly sized living room. It also, of course, keeps my living room warm too. Now I can enjoy the sounds of crackling fire all winter long. —  Michelle Rae Uy, testing and updates writer

One of my favorite things about the colder weather is having an excuse to stay inside all day. My PlayStation 5 will be the single most important thing getting me through the colder months. I love not only playing cozy games on my own but also hooking it up and playing local co-op games with my entire family. You don't even have to leave your couch to enjoy some fun, quality time. — Gabriella Triolo, social coordinator

This Aritzia sweat combo is my unofficial fall uniform. It fits oversized with an extra-large hoodie to keep you cozy from head to toe. Its inner fleece feels oh so cuddly. Plus, it comes in a rainbow of hues ranging from classic neutrals to sporty prints. — Jacqueline Saguin, deals editor

Last year, I was all about my Ugg Tasman Slippers, but this fall I’ve been slipping my feet into these cozy boots. The mini boot style makes them far more versatile than a slipper, so I can rock them while running errands or, as I did last month, wear them on a cross-country trip. In fact, I think they’re fantastic travel shoes. The slip-on style makes them easy to take on and off when going through airport security, and the fuzzy interior kept my feet warm and cozy for the long-haul flight. This style is made with leather from farms that practice regenerative agriculture, as well as upcycled wool and sugarcane-based EVA, so they’re better for the planet too. — Sophie Shaw, beauty and fashion editor

Cardis are back with a vengeance this year, so I’m staying cozy in the office and when I’m out with friends in the Nocturnal Solid Cardi from Free People. This wool-cashmere blend is soft — especially after washing — fits just right and is great for both dressy and casual occasions. It’s officially my fall uniform, which is why I got one in black — though it does come in other gorgeous colors. — Michelle Rae Uy, testing and updates writer

Nothing makes me feel like a main character in a 2000s rom-com more than slipping into this robe. If you’re still lounging in a towel post-shower or grabbing an open-neck sweater to get ready in the morning, I highly recommend upgrading to a robe. I love this Coyuchi one because it wears well year-round, keeping me warm without trapping in body heat and steam that can leave me sweating in the summer months. The cotton weave dries quickly, and the long length feels luxurious as it drapes down my frame. I reach for this daily to instantly make me feel like I'm at a spa.   Jillian Tracy, associate editor

Supesu calls this oversized, fleece-lined top a sweater, but I’d place it squarely in the sweatshirt category if given my druthers. Either way, it’s a dream to throw on when the temps go down and you’re ready to relax. Outrageously soft, inside and out, every time I even look at it, I want to curl up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa. And bonus: It even has pockets. — Tobey Grumet Segal, health, food and fitness editor

Slipper season is finally here! I always have trouble finding footwear that works for me. I have a lot of issues with my feet, so slippers must be comfortable and supportive (but most aren't). But when I wore Kuru's latest slipper, everything changed. They're designed to help relieve foot pain and have all the support and comfort you need. Your feet will thank you! — Gabriella Triolo, social coordinator

Nothing beats stepping out of a shower and into a large, thick towel that feels like a warm hug. These days, I’m wrapping myself up in Brooklinen’s Super-Plush Bath Towels for their impressive softness. Plus, the Rose Clay color gives my bathroom an autumnal refresh. — Jacqueline Saguin, deals editor

In the summer, my classic Crocs are my designated indoor shoes. But when the final days of summer end or when I'm winding down for a cozy night in, I switch over to my warm and welcoming Glerups. Securing snugly around my whole foot and made with a grippy leather sole, I never worry about slipping or tripping while navigating around my home. Plus, because they fully enclose my heel, every inch of my foot stays nice and toasty. They’re the first thing to hit my feet in the morning and the last thing to leave them when I climb into bed at night.  Jillian Tracy, associate editor
