Castle Windows at a glance
Castle Windows offers excellent warranty coverage and affordable prices, making it a top contender for replacing your home’s windows.
Fast facts
- Castle Windows was founded in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, in 1977 and has expanded into 11 states.
- The company provides replacement windows, new construction windows and window repair services.
- Castle is proud of its lifetime warranty on its windows, including the fact that it does not prorate any warranty coverage.
- Although Castle Windows does not have accredited status from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), it has an A+ BBB rating and reviewers give it 3.14 stars (out of 5)
What we like
I like that Castle Windows maintains above-average customer ratings across several websites. Its BBB rating of 3.14 stars (out of 5) is above the industry BBB average of 2.47. In addition, the company’s Trustpilot rating of 3.8 is higher than the average of 2.89. In Google Reviews, it has a 4.1 rating (out of 5), above the average of 3.91.
I also love that all of Castle’s materials, including glass, come with lifetime transferable warranties. Only five other companies of the 24 our team reviewed provide this kind of comprehensive coverage.
What we don’t like
Castle Windows has a large selection of products, but its product line is smaller than that of some competitors. For example, it doesn’t manufacture composite window frames, which are some of the most energy-efficient on the market, and it doesn’t offer some popular window types, including single-hung and picture windows. Over 70% of the manufacturers we’ve reviewed offer picture windows, and over 60% have single-hung windows.
*BBB ratings are accurate as of September 2024.
Castle Windows pros and cons
Castle Windows’ customer ratings suggest it provides positive customer service, but its overall support seems similar to competitors. For example, Castle doesn’t have an FAQ page, a community forum or a knowledge base on its website. These don’t suggest poor service, but it’s nice when companies take that extra step to educate customers about their products.
Castle manufactures its windows in North America. All of its installers are certified, which is a major plus. However, the company isn’t certified by the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA). This isn’t necessarily a negative, but certification would suggest a higher-quality installation because the FGIA provides ongoing training for installers.
Pros
- Made in North America
- Lifetime warranty on all products
- In-house installation/service team
Cons
- No online knowledge base or FAQ page
- Missing some popular window types, like picture and single-hung
- Not FGIA-certified
What services does Castle Windows offer?
Castle Windows is a window manufacturer and a window repair service company, making it a one-stop shop. It doesn’t carry a handful of popular window styles, such as picture and sliding windows, and doesn’t manufacture composite frames (like Fibrex). Still, it covers all other window frame options.
The wealth of repair services and installation options helps Castle Windows stand out from competitors, specifically because it handles everything with an in-house service team. Leading competitors, including Andersen Windows, Milgard and Marvin, don’t have in-house teams. They outsource the work to third-party technicians.

Castle Windows customization and add-ons
Castle Windows has four frame materials:
- Aluminum
- Fiberglass
- Vinyl
- Wood
Castle Windows also provides transom and specialty transom windows, making it the only company we’ve reviewed that manufactures and installs these varieties. However, Castle Windows doesn’t carry composite frames, which are among the most energy-efficient on the market.
What does Castle Windows not cover?
Castle Windows doesn’t publish the color or hardware options available for its windows on its website. However, third-party sources suggest that some window styles only come in three colors. Compared to the E-Series windows from Andersen, which come in 58 different exterior colors and 14 interior colors, Castle trails in the customization department.
How much does Castle Windows cost?
Like most window manufacturers and installers, Castle Windows doesn’t post its pricing on its website, so the only way to get an accurate quote is to contact the company for a formal estimate.
However, I gathered some pricing data from third-party sources to understand how much Castle Windows costs. Your window cost will depend on the frame and glass materials, the window size and style and the number of windows you’re replacing. The average cost of one window from Castle Windows ranges from $350 to $3,000
Below are a few average Castle Window costs based on the frame material:
- Aluminum clad: $800 - 1,500
- Fiberglass: $900 - $3,000
- Vinyl: $350 - $800
- Wood: $1,000 - $3,000
Your prices will also vary based on the type of window you install. Below are some typical Castle Window costs by window style:
- Awning window: $300 - $1,000
- Bay/bow window: $1,000 - $3,000
- Casement window: $400 - $1,000
- Double-hung window: $300 - $800
- Hopper window: $150 - $600
- Sliding window: $600 - $1,400
Castle Windows also offers window repair services, but prices for these options are not available online. You’ll need to contact Castle directly for a customized quote to see your proposed total.
Savings and discounts
At the time of writing, I couldn’t find any available discounts for Castle Windows.
However, you save money in a few ways when ordering windows from this provider. Such as:
- Choose your window frame material carefully. Materials like vinyl and aluminum are more affordable upfront but are less energy-efficient and can raise your heating and cooling bills if you live in an extreme climate because vinyl and aluminum.
- Consider energy efficiency incentives. Energy Star certifies many Castle Windows products. Some utility companies and municipalities offer incentives like rebates and tax credits to homeowners who install new energy-efficient windows and doors to deliver savings. The Energy Star program also reports that Energy Star-certified windows save you more money because of higher efficiency. So, this is potentially a multi-faceted way to save.
- Take advantage of the lifetime warranty. Castle Windows is one of only six window manufacturers on our list that includes a lifetime warranty on all of its products and components. If something goes wrong after installation, you could save money by invoking that warranty.
Castle Windows customer experience
Castle Windows makes it easy for customers to contact one of its representatives. It has a live chat on its website, and although you’ll speak with a bot, it’s always available. The company also has a contact phone number with representatives available 24/7. There is no community forum or knowledge base, although the company has a blog that offers helpful information for potential customers.
The company’s website is easy to navigate and has clear product and warranty information. However, it offers no pricing information or anything about customization options. You must contact the company for details about what windows will work in your home.
Acting as a secret shopper, I contacted a Castle Windows branch and was pleased with the experience. I waited on hold for about a minute before I was connected with a representative. After that, the rep was kind, courteous and willing and able to answer basic questions about products, services and getting an estimate.
Castle Windows has above-average customer reviews across multiple online platforms, including the BBB, Google Reviews and Trustpilot, which indicate the company prioritizes customer service and satisfaction. The ratings overall are 10% to 25% higher than the industry average across these three platforms.
The reviews below should provide a glimpse of both the best-case and worst-case scenarios when ordering windows through Castle Windows:
Castle Windows’ installation process
Castle Windows has a similar installation process to most competitors:
- Initial inspection and estimate: First, a representative from Castle will measure your windows and discuss what frame materials you want. You will learn what works well in your climate and what glass materials are appropriate. You could get a formal estimate that day.
- Contracts and manufacturing: Once you sign the contract, Castle Windows typically requires 50% payment upfront, at which point it will start building your windows.
- Installation: On installation day, an in-house team will show up to install your windows. Customer reviews suggest that Castle’s installers are professional and courteous. You must pay the remaining balance on the day of installation.
- Post-installation: Castle Windows stands out from its competition by including a transferable lifetime warranty on all its products. If you have a problem caused by the installation or manufacturing process, Castle will fix it.
Castle Windows vs. competitors
Castle Windows has more positive customer reviews than most competitors, and its warranty coverage is better than most. It lacks some common window styles and doesn’t produce composite window frames, so selection is more limited than with most other companies.
Castle also doesn’t publicize its window frame colors or hardware options, although third-party sources suggest they’re underwhelming compared to competitors, such as Anderson Windows and Champion Windows.
If you’re looking for a strong warranty or a company that can handle everything from replacement windows to new construction windows to a variety of window repairs, Castle Windows checks those boxes.
