As if the Allbirds Wool Runner couldn’t have been more of a hit, the brand had to go and release an even better, more comfortable version with the Wool Runner 2. As of Nov. 3, an update to the iconic sneaker that put the brand on the map in 2016 is available in three cool colorways in men’s sizes 8 to 14 and women’s sizes 5 to 11. They retail for $110 a pop.
The new Wool Runner 2 features more than 15 improvements to the look and feel of its predecessor, including a more cushioned midsole, an added heal seam, an altered bite line and more.
Allbirds says it underwent extensive wear testing to ensure the Wool Runner 2 is exceptionally comfortable for all-day use, and for the first time, the brand has added half sizes to the line.
What can you expect from a sneaker that stole the hearts of commuters, travelers and everyone in between? Improved comfort, thanks to 14% more foam underfoot, an anatomical heel for a contoured feel, a concave tongue to cradle the instep and a roomier toe box to support swelling or bunions, a more durable upper to prevent your toe from poking through its merino wool material and an overall streamlined aesthetic due to an elevated collar line, an on-trend ribbed midsole pattern and puffed eyelets.
As with all Allbirds products, you can feel good about knowing this pair adheres to the brand’s reduced carbon footprint mission by including shoelaces made with recycled bottles, plant-based foam and ethical regenerative wool with temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties.
