Sony has something special for Olivia Rodrigo fans: It has collaborated with the singer on a new version of the Sony LinkBuds S that not only gets a unique color scheme and environmentally friendly design, but also nabs some special EQ settings. The new model is available for pre-order from Sony today, though it won’t ship until the end of October.
When black and white are too plain, Olivia Rodrigo offers a splash of extra color on this limited-edition pair of our favorite true wireless earbuds for Android users.
The most noticeable design change is the color scheme. The violet colorway, chosen by Rodrigo, sees a pink and lavender two-tone scheme. The main, visible portion of the earbud also has a marbled effect. That color scheme applies to the case as well, adding the marbled lavender to the entire outside of the case. The Rodrigo looks are rounded out with Rodrigo sound as well. Using Sony’s Headphones Connect app, you’ll get two EQ presets, “Guts” and “Sour” tuned by Rodrigo herself and her producer for listening to the artist’s music.
The redesigned headset looks to offer more for the eco-conscious shopper as well. The plastics used to make the stylish, marbled effect are derived from recycled plastics coming from automobile parts and water bottles. On top of it all, you still get the key features that made the original LinkBuds S such a compelling pair of earbuds, namely good audio, ANC, long battery life and the Adaptive Sound Control feature that makes it so easy to hear what you need to hear without taking the earbuds out.
