You know what they say: It’s not truly summer until Samsung launches a new smartphone. OK, maybe they don’t say that, but like clockwork, the company’s summer Unpacked event is almost here — and as always, you can reserve the new devices early to save some cash.

This year’s Galaxy Unpacked kicks off in Paris, France, on July 10 (a little earlier than Samsung’s usual schedule), promising a look at “the next generation of Galaxy AI and the ever-expanding Galaxy ecosystem.” If previous launches are anything to go by, we’ll likely see the release of the company’s newest Z Fold and Z Flip foldable phones in addition to some potential new wearable and audio goodies.

Sign up to reserve any of Samsung's upcoming mobile devices with your email and get an instant $50 credit to use once preorders go live on July 10.

If any of those devices are of interest, you can reserve them through Samsung’s website or the Shop Samsung app and instantly get a free $50 Samsung Credit to put toward your gadget of choice from now through July 10. Reserving is free — you’re simply providing your email address so you’ll be among the first in line to get a chance to preorder once sales open during Unpacked. If you make a reservation and do commit to preordering later on, Samsung says you’ll save up to $1,500 on a new Galaxy device. Additionally, folks who reserve will be entered into a sweepstakes with a chance at winning $5,000 in Samsung Credit; that’s enough for at least a couple of the foldable phones we expect to see next month.

You can likely count on follow-ups to both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (a phone that expands into a mini tablet) and the extra-compact, clamshell Galaxy Z Flip 5, the latter of which is our current pick for best foldable phone. Last year’s Z Flip 5 got a pretty significant upgrade in the form of a larger cover screen that, like that of last year’s Moto Razr+, lets you see plenty of content even when the phone is folded in half. However, now that Motorola just unleashed its 2024 foldable lineup — which includes a cheaper $699 Razr with the same large front screen — Samsung has hotter competition than ever in the tiny foldable space.

We’ve seen the latest Galaxy Watches and Galaxy Buds debut at Unpacked, so new models for this year are a likely bet. And then there’s the Galaxy Ring, an Oura-like health ring that was teased back in January alongside the Galaxy S24 launch and could get a full coming-out party this summer. Oh, and you can count on plenty of Galaxy AI talk, as Samsung will likely be bolstering its phones’ artificial intelligence chops to take on rivals like Google Gemini and the Apple Intelligence tech that’s set to hit iPhones later this year. We weren’t exactly blown away by Galaxy AI in this year’s flagship phones, so here’s hoping Samsung can offer some compelling use cases for this next generation.

Galaxy Unpacked gets underway on July 10 at 9 a.m. EST, and you can follow the action on Samsung’s YouTube channel and website. As always, we’ll be covering all the big launches as they happen, so be sure to check back for our in-depth analysis on Samsung’s summer slate — and whether any of this stuff will be worth upgrading to this year.
