Nomad

Nomad has long made some of our favorite Apple Watch bands for everyday use, but now the company is finally going rugged. The all-new Rocky Point Band is the company’s first band designed specifically for the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2, sporting ultra-durable materials and a sporty look that seems like an ideal fit for long days of outdoor adventuring.

Designed for the Apple Watch Ultra but compatible with all Apple Watches, the Rocky Point Band features a durable, fully waterproof rubber construction in a trio of sleek colors.

Available now for $80, the Rocky Point Band uses “metal injection molding titanium,” which Nomad says is a new manufacturing method that allows it to be both lightweight and able to take a beating out in the wild. The FKM rubber band is chunkier-looking than the Nomad Sport Band that we’ve loved for years, but not dramatically so — and when you’re getting a watch strap that’s 100% waterproof and molded with titanium, that doesn’t seem like a bad trade-off.

The Rocky Point Band is offered in Sol (yellow), Atlantic (deep blue) and Storm (black), which all seem like the kind of colors that someone hiking deep into the mountains would wear. We just wish it also came in the same Glow 2.0 variation that Nomad has offered for previous bands, as a glow-in-the-dark watch band seems handy for folks that spend a lot of time in the wilderness.

While the Rocky Point Band was designed with the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2 in mind, it’ll also work just fine with just about any other Apple Watch — including the most recent Series 9 and SE. And with new Apple Watches almost certainly around the corner in a few weeks, it seems safe to assume it’ll work with those as well.

As with most of Nomad’s products, we don’t expect this rugged Apple Watch band to be in stock very long. So if you’re in the market for an Apple Watch Ultra band that’s as durable as the watch itself, you may want to act fast.
