There are a ton of electric bikes out there these days to choose from, and here at Underscored, one of our favorite parts of the job is giving them all a spin — literally. This T1 might look like an analog bike, but it’s full of electric bells and whistles. Plus, it has a super-lightweight frame for an easy carry.
If you’ve been thinking about getting an electric bike for a while now, this model is truly a standout. We found that the T1 feels like riding a normal bike — and it looks like one too, with virtually nothing to signal its electric capabilities — but it has a little pep in its gears to make uphill climbs and whizzing around town a little easier. There are no gizmos and gadgets on the handlebars beyond a fingerprint sensor; instead, if you want to check out your analytics, including battery level and pedal assist level, you can pull out your phone app to get a reading. (There’s also a GPS and mobile tracking in case someone nicks it.)
We also loved its slim profile and high-quality hardware, which made us feel assured when speeding off on our commute.
Best of all, if you have an apartment where you have to carry the bike up to your unit with you (or your closest subway station doesn’t have an elevator), this bike is super lightweight for easier hauling up and down stairs. Our reviewer found it easy to use, store and take in and out of her high-rise building.
