The Dyson Supersonic is an industry icon (and our favorite hair dryer), thanks to its incredible performance while minimizing hair damage. Now there’s a brand-new version of the dryer up for grabs with the launch of the Dyson Supersonic Nural, which promises to protect hair from heat damage even more thoroughly than its predecessor — and look cool while doing it.
Protect your hair from heat damage with this smart-learning-enhanced, auto-heat-detecting hair dryer.
Dyson is billing the Supersonic Nural as its “most intelligent hair dryer,” thanks to the addition of Nural sensors that automatically detect key figures like temperature and reduce the amount of damage done to your hair while blow-drying. According to Dyson, less heat damage means better scalp health and more shine. To that extent, the hair dryer will activate a “Scalp Protect mode” that automatically adjusts the heat as the dryer gets closer to the scalp (measured by a fancy infrared beam), and you’ll be able to tell what’s happening by a change in LED lighting.
Plus, it comes with new attachments to help you get a great blowout. One of these is a new Wave+Curl diffuser made especially for natural hair patterns. It has two-way airflow so you can either direct airflow away from your scalp (for a little more of a smooth, wavy look) or give your roots a blast for a hit of great volume for your curls. Plus, the Supersonic Nural actually uses machine learning to recognize which attachments you use the most, detect them automatically and optimize performance in turn.
