Philadelphia(CNN) Democrats turned to Hollywood stars for the attacks on Donald Trump and mothers of slain African-American children to back Hillary Clinton on the second night of the party's convention Tuesday.
Here are some of the night's most memorable lines:
"I can't believe that we've just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet. This is really your victory, this is really your night. And if there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say: I may become the first woman president but one of you is next," Clinton said via satellite.
"I move that Hillary Clinton be selected as the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States," said the Vermont senator, after the DNC's roll call. He asked for Clinton to be chosen as the party's nominee by acclimation.
"In the spring of 1971, I met a girl."
"Poor kids, you got a champion! Kids who live in poverty, you got a champion! Kids who need help, you got a champion! As long as she's in charge, we're never going back."
"Women are going to be the reason you're not elected to be president," she said of Trump.
Ferrara: "I'm America Ferrera, and according to Donald Trump, I'm probably a rapist."
Dunham: "But America, you're not Mexican."
Ferrara: "And President Obama isn't Kenyan, either, but that doesn't stop Donald."
"In that women is a hell of a tough person," she said, describing Clinton's work after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack. She added that Clinton continued to call and check on her for years.
"This isn't about being politically correct. This is about saving our children. That's why we're here, tonight, with Hillary Clinton," said Fulton, whose son was unarmed when he was shot and killed by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.
"We can support our police officers while at the same time making criminal justice reforms."
"Where does she get her grit and her grace?" said Streep, listing Clinton as part of a long line of "female path-breakers."
