(CNN) "She shouldn't be surprised if one day she comes home and finds out that daddy has been killed by a police officer."
That's what W. Kamau Bell, host of CNN's "United Shades of America" wants to tell his daughter following a week of two police shootings caught on camera and the ambush killings of five Dallas police officers.
"Oh, God, I really was hoping you weren't going to say that," said Ashleigh Banfield, host of "Legal View," who was saddened by the honesty of Bell's answer.
Within a day of each other, two black men were shot and killed by police officers. Both had their last moments caught on camera and the deaths sparked anger around the globe.
As protests continued Thursday, a sniper in Dallas ambushed police officers, killing five and wounding a dozen others.
