In July 2001, Harrison Ford put his "Indiana Jones"-honed instincts to good use
by climbing into his helicopter to help a search party looking for a missing 13-year-old Boy Scout outside Wyoming's Yellowstone National Park. When the boy was found almost seven hours later, cold and hungry but OK, Ford greeted him with a hug and a handshake.
Demi Moore used to be one of Twitter's most well-known personalities, and in April 2009, the actress found herself intervening on the social site to save a life.
When a woman reached out to Moore on Twitter threatening suicide, Moore swiftly responded, "Hope you are joking." From there, other users were able to locate the woman, and concerned observers reached out to police, who intervened. Moore later tweeted that she was "very torn about responding or retweeting that woman's post but felt uncomfortable just letting it go."
In October 2010, T.I. helped police talk a jumper off the roof of a building.
The rapper said he heard that a man was threatening to jump from a 22-story Atlanta edifice on the radio and felt that he was in a position to help.
According to police, T.I. told the man that "a person 'can make it through anything' " and just "happened to be in the right place at the right time."
Zoe Saldana filled the role of a Good Samaritan in January 2012. After witnessing a nasty accident in Los Angeles, the actress jumped from her car
to help an elderly woman who had been injured. Along with a bystander, Saldana helped the woman to a nearby curb, where she stayed with her and called for help. The actress stuck around after paramedics arrived, returning to the woman's car at one point to help gather her belongings.
Patrick Dempsey came to a teen's rescue in April 2012. The "Grey's Anatomy" heartthrob
saved Malibu, California, resident Weston Masset after Masset's Ford Mustang flipped over. Armed with a crowbar and a fire extinguisher, Dempsey pulled the 17-year-old from the wreckage and waited with him until the paramedics arrived. He even called the kid's mother!
Dustin Hoffman was taking a walk through London's Hyde Park in April 2012 when he came to the rescue of a jogger who was having heart trouble.
Hoffman worked quickly when he saw the 27-year-old man "staggering and frothing at the mouth" before collapsing, according to the London Evening Standard. The actor called for help and made sure the man was on his back, staying with him until medical services arrived.
Jennifer Lawrence isn't too "Hollywood" to help out a stranger. The Oscar-winning actress
stayed by the side of a sick woman who was lying on the ground and in need of care in June 2012. Lawrence remained put until paramedics arrived on the scene in Santa Monica.

Craig Morgan came to the rescue in June 2013 when he saw a highway crash ahead of his bus in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Since Morgan is a trained emergency medical technician, he helped put out a small fire and get everyone to safety.
Not long before Morgan's rescue work,
John Malkovich came to a civilian's aid as well. The actor was in Toronto in June 2013 when he rushed to the side of an older man who'd fallen and hit his head on a scaffolding pole. Malkovich kept the man and his wife calm until paramedics arrived, and he made sure to apply pressure to the man's wound.
