After Paris massacre, the world turns blue, white and red for France

(CNN) After the horrific attacks in Paris that left at least 129 people dead, U.S. President Barack Obama called the violence "an attack not just on Paris, not just on the people on France, but an attack on all humanity."

The world agreed. In the aftermath, buildings in cities across the globe were lit up in the blue, white and red colors of the French flag in a show of solidarity and support.

In Washington, the ice at the Verizon Center became a tricolor before a hockey game between the Washington Capitals and the Calgary Flames.

In New York, One World Trade Center's antenna was lit in honor of France.

While the Empire State Building was darkened in sympathy.

As was the 50-story replica of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas resort.

The Sydney Opera House in Australia was lit vibrantly in French colors.

So was the Mexican Senate.

In Canada, the Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square was lit in blue, white and red.
