Two artworks by Damien Hirst have been stolen from a London Gallery. "Pyronin Y", seen hanging in the Exhibitionist Gallery before the theft on December 9, 2013, is worth £15,000 ($24,565).
"Oleoylsarcosine" (left) another of the artist's dot paintings, was created in 2008. It is worth £18,000 ($29,480). Police have appealed for help to recover the stolen pieces.
Damien Hirst, seen here in front of one of his most famous artworks, "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" - a shark preserved in formaldehyde - was the subject of a major retrospective at London's Tate Modern gallery in 2012.
Hirst, possing in front of his artwork "I am Become Death, Shatterer of Worlds" at London's Tate Modern on April 2, 2012, rose to fame in the 1990s as one of the Young British Artists, or YBAs, along with Tracey Emin, Sarah Lucas and Jake and Dinos Chapman.
