Tintin, the creation of Belgian author Herge, is beloved by children and adults the world over.
The books showcase Herge's interest in archaeology and anthropology and frequently feature mysterious artifacts from ancient civilizations.
Herge, pictured, wrote and illustrated 23 Tintin books.
A new film, directed by Steven Spielberg, and titled "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn," is released in the UK this week.
